Introduces the UNIX/Linux operating system, including: task scheduling and management, memory management, input/output processing, internal and external commands, shell configuration, and shell customization. Explores the use of operating system utilities such as text editors, electronic mail, file management, scripting, and C/C++ compilers. FAQ: Q1. Do I need to attend the lab on campus? A1. The lab will be held as a virtual session. You can attend from any computer. Q2. Do I need to attend the virtual lab? A2. Ideally yes. However, I understand you may have conflicts and the lab times are not set prior to your registration. You can submit the required work before the lab's due date and not attend the lab. Lab schedule will be communicated each week. Q3. Can I use a Mac for this class. A3. Yes.
