Examines the development of constitutional traditions in the United States. Includes topics such as free speech, equal rights under law, movements, interest groups, political parties, and elections in a democratic struggle for power. PS 201, 202, and 203 need not be taken in sequence. Prerequisites: WR 115, RD 115 and MTH 20 or equivalent placement test scores. Audit available. - Edwards textbook , Government in America, latest custom PCC edition. If you purchase a new PCC Custom Edition textbook at the bookstore , the MyPoliSciLab online free access code comes with it. If you purchase a used textbook, you will need to purchase an access code for MyPolisciLab (about $20). Which you should do through D2L to get a discounted rate. There is an e-text option with the access code to MyPoliscilab that is about $50 . Again, you need to access this option through D2L once you are in the course. Choose which ever is more economical for you. But you must have the MyPoliscilab to do some of the work in the course.
