WR121 English Composition

Focuses on academic writing as a means of inquiry. Uses critical reading, discussion and the writing process to explore ideas, develop cultural awareness and formulate positions. Emphasizes development of a variety of strategies to present evidence in support of a thesis. Prerequisite: Placement into WR 121, or completion of WR 115 and RD 115. From the Instructor:
This class has three essays. Two of them offer rewrites after I grade them in order to let you improve your work for a higher grade. The second essay is written about some material found in Confessions of an Economic Hit Man. Essay One is about a current event, and it can draw from two articles regarding a broad selections of topics--everything from organic gardening to health issues to foreign affairs. Essay three is a film review.

Easy Writing Skills (Req) Confessions of an Economic Hit Man (Req) A Pocket Style Manual (Optional) I always try to keep textbook costs down.
