Details about this class

This class is entirely online.  On our Desire2Learn Brightspace web site you will find mini-lectures and notes that were created to help you gain a deeper and broader understanding of the wide variety of topics to which you will be introduced.  You will also find challenging and stimulating Discussion Board questions that will facilitate teaching and learning from your classmates by making "deep dives" into concepts from the textbook.  There will be three assignments that will provide insights about our legal system, and short weekly quizzes to remind you to stay current on the reading!  Finally, you will have several extra credit opportunities that will also provide glimpses of some fascinating aspects of the American legal system.

Please note that although we will be using a textbook published by Cengage Publishing, we will NOT be using Cengage's proprietary MindTap materials, so it is NOT necessary to purchase a Cengage MindTap access code for our class.

Technology

There is no additional technology required for this class.

No show policy

Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class. It is important to log in as soon as the class starts to see what the participation requirements are.
