Federal Work-Study Orientation

Types of Work-Study positions

Off-Campus Jobs

We offer work-study opportunities at a number of non-profit organizations. You must refer to the list of off-campus agencies that we have contracts with (see Off-Campus Jobs link) and if interested, find a position with one of these agencies. The benefits to working at an off-campus community service organization are that you are helping the larger community and can learn more about how non-profits work. Also, work experience with these organizations is something that you can include on a scholarship application and your resume. Examples of off-campus sites that offer work-study positions are Outside In, an organization that provides services to homeless youth or Community Energy Project, which helps low-income seniors weatherize their homes for winter weather.

The pay rates for off-campus positions vary, but mostly fall within the range $9.00 to $12.00 per hour.

Please note: If you are hired in a work-study position off-campus, you must contact the work-study coordinator, Regina Broich at 971-722-4488 to set up an appointment to complete an I-9 form.
