Entrance Counseling

 

Why is Loan Counseling Important?

  • Helps you understand your rights and responsibilities as a Direct loan borrower
  • Provides information and terms to help you make the right choices
  • Your school requires you to complete Entrance and Exit Counseling

It is important to know this is a loan. Loans are NOT grants or gifts

 On-Line Option

1. Go to www.studentloans.gov

2. Click SIGN in and input the following information:

a. Social Security Number
b. First Two (2) Characters of Last Name
c. Date of Birth (mm/dd/yyyy)
d. FAFSA pin (If you do not have FAFSA pin go to : www.pin.ed.gov and request new/dupliate
e. Click sign in

3. Under heading Counseling Note click:

a. Complete Entrance Counseling and then click second time
b. Under Please identify yourself click: I am an undergraduate student
c. Read and answer all questions on pages 1-16.
d. Click submit and print confirmation for your records.

  • View the Federal Direct Stafford Loan CD: #VC2600
  • Review the information with your campus Financial Aid staff member.
  • Sign the Federal Direct Stafford Loan Entrance Counseling document provided by the Financial Aid Office.
