College Service Fee

Effective Summer 2009, a College Service Fee was implemented as a way to combine multiple small dollar fees commonly assessed to students and to enhance transportation options. With this fee, PCC is able to eliminate more than 60 thousand individual student charges per year, thus improving efficiency and student service. The fee will also enable the college to more than double the number of subsidized Tri-Met bus passes offered to students and to increase future shuttle services.

How will the fee be charged?

The College Service Fee is assessed once per term to all students enrolled in credit courses. The cost of the College Service Fee will be posted to your account automatically when you enroll in one or more credit hours.

Will I receive a refund if I drop or withdraw from my courses?

It depends on when and how you drop or withdraw. The fee will be removed from your account if you drop all credit classes by the published drop deadline for the course/s in which you were enrolled. The drop must be submitted via MyPCC or directly to the Registration office. The fee will not be removed if you withdraw after the drop deadline.

What charges will be covered?

For students enrolled in credit courses, the College Service Fee will cover the cost of transcripts (up to 3 per student per term), the general college application fee, dual enrollment transcript fees, graduation application fees, the petition fee for credit by exam, one book locker, and one free ID card.

Will I be refunded for covered charges that have already been billed to me?

No. The fee will cover the cost of future services. Fees which have already been charged are non-refundable.

Can I access services covered by the fee if I have a hold on my account?

It depends on the type of hold. If you have a financial hold due to a past due debt, you will be unable access college services or obtain official transcripts until your account is paid in full. Academic holds would not typically interfere with access to the services covered by this fee.
