Proctored Examination Procedures (all PCC campuses)

Students and Instructors must be familiar with all testing procedures. Please read all information before utilizing the Testing Centers!

Listed below are general proctored examination policies and procedures which apply to all PCC campuses, including instructor and student responsibilities and instructions. View campus-specific information for times and additional policies and procedures.

If you are a student taking a Distance Education course with another institution, please be sure to contact a proctor with the Testing Center you wish to take an examination with prior to testing.  There is a $25 fee for proctoring services.

Instructor Responsibilities and Information

  • Proctored Examination services are to be used for individual exams only.
  • All test instructions (testing procedures, maximum time limit, calculator use, etc.) must be reviewed with the student prior to his/her coming in for a Proctored Examination.
  • Paper copies of tests should be delivered to the SLC during regular hours.
  • Instructors must fill out a Proctored Examination Instruction Form and attach it to the exam to be proctored.
  • Individual student names should be written on each test.

Student Responsibilities and Information

  • Discuss your Proctored Examination options with your instructor before attempting to set up a Proctored Examination appointment. It is your instructor's decision as to whether to utilize the Proctored Examination service.
  • Students must contact the Office of Students with Disabilities (OSD) if they require ADA accommodations. Testing of students with disabilities will continue to be scheduled through the OSD.
  • No electronic devices of any sort will be allowed while testing, unless specifically noted by the instructor on the Proctored Examination Instruction Form.
  • The student must leave books, bags, and other belongings in a designated area at each Proctored Examination site.
  • Do not bring children or visitors when testing.
  • Proctored Examinations must be turned in immediately when the specified time limit is over. No exceptions.
