PCC uses the COMPASS Placement Tests (untimed, computerized) to gauge a students academic strengths. Sample questions can be found on the ACT website. See College Placement Tests for more information.
Math placement test scores will expire after 3 years; RD and WR scores will not expire. Students are allowed to test 2 times in 3 years. (This means retesting once in each area)
Distance learning students who are unable to come to PCC to take a test can submit test scores from other institutions. PCC will take COMPASS, ASSET, or Accuplacer test scores will be accepted. Please contact a campus testing office for more information.
