Program Termination

It is with deep regret and apologies that we announce that as of Wednesday, February 29, 2012, the Students in Service (SIS) AmeriCorps program will be terminated through the mutual consent of the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) and Washington Campus Compact. This is a national termination and it means that we will not longer to able to offer the SIS program at PCC in the future. For more information about the impact of this termination and/or to voice your opinion, please visit: www.studentsinservice.org.

What does this mean for active SIS AmeriCorps members who are currently serving?

*The last day a member can count service hours is February 29, 2012
*All active members who have served at least 15% of their service hours in allowable activities and passed in their completed exit papework will be eligible for a pro-rated award.
*All active members with less than 15% of their hours served will be exited out of the SIS AmeriCorps program with no award and the member's term of service will not count against the four terms of AmeriCorps service a person is eligible to serve in a lifetime.
*All active members must pass in all time logs and exit paperwork by March 15, 2012.

What does this mean for the program next year?

*Unfortuantely, the termination of the program is permanent at this moment and PCC will no longer host a Students in Service program for our students.
