2015-2016 Chapter Officers
Marcellin Kibonge, President
Marcellin Kibonge is an international student from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He is majoring in Electrical Engineering and wishes to return to his childhood town, in order to bring what his people need the most- electricity. While Marcellin is striving to complete his education, he’s also very passionate about building his leadership skills as the Phi Theta Kappa Chapter President and Student Event Coordinator. Something interesting about Marcellin is that he speaks six different languages that he had learnt while travelling over multiple countries in Africa and small towns.
Gaetan-Dauphin Nzowo, Vice-President
Gaetan is also an international student from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He considers himself as a citizen of the world, because he is not bound to one culture. He speaks three languages: English, French and Lingala, and likes meeting people from different countries. He is focusing his studies in Civil Engineering- ultimately obtaining his Master's Degree. He enjoys reaching out to students in order to help them discover what PCC has to offer. In addition, he feels proud to have started this journey at PCC. And is willing to help students find their path to success.
Lidia C. Limon, Vice-President of Communication
Lidia is a first generation college student. Her major is Public Health and is passionate about bringing awareness regarding health diseases to underdeveloped countries. In addition, she enjoys traveling, reading, and being part of social justice movements. She has worked at the Women's Resource Center as a student advocate and is involved in student leadership as the Director of Legislative Affaris. In addiion, she encourages student to be involved on campus.
Joachim Kamunji, Vice-President of Scholarship
Joachim Kamunji is a freshman at Portland Community College and he is an international student from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He was born in Lubumbashi, and was raised in Kinshasa. He speaks French, English, Swahili and Lingala. Also majoring in Civil Engineering, he is the Vice President Of Scholarships of Beta Gamma Lambda. He likes Soccer and he is a big fan of Real Madrid.
Thitika, Vice-President of Fellowship
Thitika plans to transer to Pacific University, upon graduation. She is pursing the PA (Physician's Assistant) program. Interesting things about Thitika is that she was born in Thailand and came to the US in 2008. She sees PTK as an opportunity for leadership, scholarships, friendships, and above all community. She encourages students to join because it will bring the community college experience to a new level "PTK will open new doors for students and it will enhance the time spent at PCC".
