Pre-Tax Parking Benefit Terms and Conditions
Sylvania CSB 329 | 503-977-4703 | parking@pcc.edu | Open Mon-Fri, 8 am - 4:30 pm
Portland Community College established this benefit to allow employees to pay the fee for an on-campus parking permit on a pre-tax basis. This parking benefit is subject to the following terms and conditions:
- All College employees are eligible to participate in this program, except those classified as casual, student help, or work study.
- To purchase a pre-tax parking permit, print out and complete the “Employee Parking Permit Payroll Deduction Request” form and submit the form to Parking and Transportation Services or any campus Business Office.
- The monthly parking fee will be deducted on a pre-tax basis from your paychecks, beginning with the first regularly scheduled paycheck issued after the date on which you submit your completed form. If you are employed on a per term basis, the term rate will be deducted, in-full, from your first paycheck of the term.
- With the exception of part-time faculty, who must sign up each term, the payroll deduction will continue until you terminate College employment, transfer to an ineligible classification, or cancel the payroll deduction election.
- Your payroll deduction election applies on a month-to-month basis. You cannot cancel your election in the middle of a calendar month.
- To cancel your payroll deduction election as of the first day of any calendar month, return your parking permit to Parking and Transportation Services along with a written request to stop the payroll deduction. Your permit and request must be submitted before the effective date of the cancellation. Note: Any cancellation will be effective on the first day of the following calendar month. The parking fee will not be prorated for partial months.
- If your status changes from full-time to part-time, or from part-time to full-time, you must notify Payroll Department of the change. Monthly deduction for your parking permit will then be adjusted to reflect your new status beginning with the first day of the following calendar month unless you cancel your election as described above.
- Social Security Number or PCC Identification Number: PCC will begin issuing a “generated ID” number early in 2006. If you have been issued a “G” number, you may use it in lieu of your Social Security Number.
