Next Step Scholarship
The Next Step Scholarship represents several different scholarship opportunities at the University level for students who are participating in Middle College or Future Connect here at PCC.
Below you will find a list of all the scholarships currently available to students who are participating in Middle College. If you are also connected to Future Connect, you are eligible for both sets of scholarships.
The process contains four steps:
- Choose your school (If you haven't done this already)
- Choose the scholarship that aligns with that school
- Apply by
contacting Damon Hickok. You will need to have the following information:
- College transcripts from all schools attended (unofficial copies are acceptable)
- Two letters of recommendation.
- Educational Recommendation – teacher, principal, guidance counselor, or others who know the student in an academic capacity
- Personal Recommendation – anyone who has known the student at least two years and is not a family member
- Follow up with admissions and transfer requirements to the school of your choice

Middle College Scholarships
Legacy Emanuel Scholarship: 2 slots available
Scholarship covers the cost of books tuition and fees for students interested in a health-related or degree program. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in a paid summer internship with Legacy Emanuel
- Must be interested in a health career or educational program
- Graduate of Jefferson High School
University of Oregon: Unlimited
Scholarship provides gap funding covering any tuition and fees not covered by the Pell grant for up to three years. Must have completed 45 credit hours at PCC
- Must meet academic admittance requirements
- Must be Pell Grant eligible
- This scholarship is renewable for up to 3 years.
Oregon State University: 25 The Bridge to Success & 10 Tuition Scholarships for Success
Covers the cost of tuition and fees and a $600.00 book allowance through a combination of federal, state and institutional scholarship and grant funds for students who have completed 90 transferable credits from PCC
- Must be Pell Grant eligible
- Oregon Opportunity Grant eligible
- Must complete 36 hours per academic year with a minimum GPA of 2.5
- Renewal for up to 9 academic terms
Portland State University: 25 slots available
Scholarship provides gap funding covering any tuition and fees not covered by the Pell grant for up to three years. Students must have completed at least 45 credit hours at PCC.
- Must be Pell Grant eligible
- This scholarship is renewable for up to 3 years.
Pacific University: 1 slot available
One full award scholarship for a Jefferson High School graduate which will cover tuition, fees, room and board as well as a standard book allowance.
- Must gain acceptance to Pacific University
- Must remain in good academic standing
- Good for up to 4-years
Warner Pacific College: 1 Act six slot available
Warner Pacific and Act six will cover the full room and board needs at Warner Pacific while the student finishes their Associates degree at PCC. It then continues covering the same cost while they finish their Bachelor’s degree at Warner Pacific
- Must graduate from Jefferson High School
- Must apply and compete using the standard Act six application
Willamette University: 1 slot available
Willamette will meet the full need (tuition, room and board) of the participant through a combination of Federal, State and institutional grants and scholarships, student loans and campus work
- Must be Pell eligible
- This scholarship is renewable for up to 4 years
