Harrison Park K8 SUN

What We Do

Harrison Park SUN Community School serves over 500 students a year in grades 1-8. Volunteers often use this experience for practicum or service learning hours. It is a great way to gain the teaching experience necessary to be a competitive applicant for graduate school. Volunteering with the Harrison Park SUN program can lead to paid opportunities.

SUN (Schools Uniting Neighborhoods) Community Schools are located in Portland Public Schools and are designed to transform schools into community learning centers and promote student achievement and enrichment through greater neighborhood involvement. They provide educational, recreational, social and health services.
