What We Do

The Audubon Society of Portland's mission is to Inspire People to Love and Protect Nature.  Our volunteers are at the center of accomplishing that mission with a variety of opportunities to meet different interests and schedules.  Volunteers must attend a 2.5 hour orientation and a 7 hour training.  Potential volunteers can fill in an online application at www.audubonportland.org.

Opportunities for service with us

Short-term (no orientation or training needed):

Sanctuary work parties - 1st and 3rd Wed & Sat - 10am - noon

Short-term (with just orientation):

Help with special events.

Longer-term (require orientation and training):

Opportunities range from trail maintenance, sanctuary tours, docenting and special events to more frequent volunteering in weekly 4-hour shifts in the Wildlife Care Center or Nature Store, to name a few.
