Entry Level High Tech Skills Training for non-native English speakers

PCC and a consortium of circuit board manufacturers are offering this training for individuals desiring to enter the high-tech field for the first time. Consortium members include Vanguard EMS, Axiom Electronics, Precision Wire Components and Merix Corporation, Forest Grove. The consortium plans to hire from the pool of students completing the training. Job search assistance will be offered. The seven-week training is FREE and is offered at PCC/CAPITAL Career Center 8:30am-3pm, Monday through Friday August 18th through October 3rd, 2008

Students must first attend an informational orientation at one of the following locations:

PCC Bioscience Training

Genentech, a world class pharmaceuticals development and manufacturing company, will open their new plant in Hillsboro in late 2008 and will be seeking trained and qualified workers.

  • PCC, in conjunction with Genentech, HemCon, Welch Allyn and Precision Wire, has created a 10 week, 13 credit hour training program specific to industry hiring needs for entry level Operator positions.
  • Training starts in fall 2008 at the Rock Creek campus for the Bioscience Technician Certificate. There are a limited number of scholarships funded by local bioscience companies for qualifying students. To apply, first attend an orientation session.

Orientation Sessions

Attend one orientation sessions from 10:30am to 12:30pm on July 3, 10, 17, 24, or 31, 2008 at the:PCC CAPITAL Career Center, 18624 NW Walker Rd., Rm. 1508 (Corner of Walker and 185th), Beaverton, OR.
