District Student Council Goals

2011-2012

I. Complete 50,000 service hours for the 50th birthday of PCC

A. Create at least 1 district service project per quarter
B. Engage 300 students per campus
C. Each campus 1,000 hours per quarter

II. District Student Council Representation

A. For every committee presented to the DSC, supply at least 1 student
B. Non ASPCC members would receive $100.00 tuition waiver per quarter for participation
C. Each student will report back to Geoffrey Wishart (geoffrey.wishart@pcc.edu) at least 3 days after meeting attended
D. Tabling once a month at each campus with unified information

III. Uniformity

A. Create titles for similar positions district wide
B. Contest to design a new ASPCC logo for all campuses
C. T-shirts/Sweaters to promote the new logo, by the end of fall term
D. Unified promotions and flyers

IV. Education/Training Events

A. Once a term district wide (after midterms, before dead week)
B. Civic Engagement

1) Voting
2) Lobbying
3) SB909

C. Navigating the PCC system

1) Financial literacy
2) Resource awareness
3) Oregon Opportunity Grant
4) Tuition equity

V. Team Events

A. Hold one off campus event per term of the academic year

1) To encourage unity
2) Safe recreation
3) Promote the DSC

B. DSC programmers will plan and promote events

1) Promotions up and running two weeks prior to events with unified publications
2) Surveys following events
3) Cost/benefit analyses by DSC programmers

C. Events and dates will be decided during fall term

VI. District wide student communication

A. Enhanced communication opportunities for students
B. Democratization of information
C. Disseminate information from the DSC to the student body
D. Facilitate communication through physical and electronic means:

1) Social media
2) Web tools
3) Surveys
4) Other means deemed appropriate
