HE - Health Instructor Qualifications
HE 250 Instructor Requirements:
- Ideal- HE 250 instructor has a master’s degree in health education, community health, or related field with graduate course in fitness, nutrition, health behavior, sexuality, psychology, disease, and environment.
- HE250 instructor has a Master’s degree with 30 quarter hours of graduate credit in academic courses in fitness, nutrition, health behavior, sexuality, psychology, disease, environment.
- HE 250 instructor has a bachelor’s degree and at least 30 quarter hours of graduate credit in academic courses in fitness, nutrition, health behavior, sexuality, psychology, disease, and environment.

HPE 298 lecture and lab instructors (requirements for PSU to accept credits of PCC’s transfer students):
- Master’s degree in Health or Physical Education
- Course in Exercise Physiology
- Course in Nutrition
- Course in Stress Management
- Also recommended that Health and Physical Education instructors attend the Seaside Conference, enroll in a summer PSU Wellness course, and attend the PCC lecture and/or lab for one term, depending on the instructor’s major area. A Health major should attend the lab, and the PE instructor should attend the lecture.
