Culinary Assistant Instructor Qualifications prior to January 2016

  • Associate Degree or higher in Culinary Art, Education, Special Education, Management, Psychology, Social Work.  This list may not be inclusive as there are other degree titles that may be appropriate. The Division Dean, in consultation with the program’s Department Director,  will make the final determination about the applicability of a particular degree that is outside the scope of this list. AND
  • A minimum of 5 years recent, full-time, working experience in education, management, food services, or related fields (Bachelor’s degree in the subject area may substitute 1 year, while Master’s degree may substitute 2 years for the 5-year working experience). INCLUDING
  • At least three years full time equivalent experience working with students/individuals with special needs.  AND
  • Oregon Food Handler’s Certificate is required within first month of hire.
Related Instruction

Instructors who meet the above requirements should be qualified to deliver all the related instruction in this subject area, as described in the CCOGs for HR 107, HR 108 and HR 109.
