EMS -- Emergency Medical Services Instructor Qualifications

EMS 100

  • Certification level at EMT-Basic or higher.
  • American Heart Association Core Instructor Course, or NFPA Instructor I Certification, or NAEMSE EMT Instructor Course, or equivalent.
  • Documented training in the following topics: Blood borne Pathogens, Hazardous Materials Awareness/Operations, and Incident Command System.

 

EMS 105, 106, 120 

  • Currently certified Oregon EMT-Basic or higher in good standing with OR DHS
  • AHA BLS Instructor Certified
  • Three years experience at or above level being taught
  • At least one of the following: NFPA Instructor 1, NAEMSE EMT Instructor, DPSST Instructor I and II, transcripted 3 credits adult learning theory, or equivalent
  • Math 65 or higher present on transcript

EMS 113, 115, 118

  • Certification level at EMT-Basic or higher.
  • American Heart Association Core Instructor Course, or NFPA Instructor I Certification, or NAEMSE EMT Instructor Course, or equivalent.

 

EMS 114 

  • Certification level at EMT-Basic or higher.
  • American Heart Association Core Instructor Course, or NFPA Instructor I Certification, or NAEMSE EMT Instructor Course, or equivalent.
  • Documented training in Emergency Vehicle Operations or five years emergency vehicle operations experience.
  • Math 65 or higher present on transcript

  • Certification level at EMT-Basic or higher.

  • Math 65 or higher present on transcript

  • Currently certified Oregon EMT-Paramedic, or higher in good standing with OR DHS
  • AHA ACLS Instructor Certified

  • BTLS or PHTLS Instructor Certified
  • Three years experience at or above level being taught
  • At least one of the following: NFPA Instructor 1, NAEMSE EMT Instructor, DPSST Instructor I and II, transcripted 3 credits adult learning theory, or equivalent
  • AAS Degree or higher
