Meeting Minutes

Present: Lonn Aldridge, Sheila Brown, Mark Fennell, Ken Goodwin, Eli Herr, Erin Morris, Andrew Brookins, Wendy Settle, Anthony Stine, and Kendi Esary.

Minutes – April 26th

1) Ken and Lonn presented their research findings from other colleges or university who had gone Tabocco Free.

Various options were discussed.

Univeristy of Kansas has designated one entrance to each building as completely smoke free.
Most colleges have designated smoking areas and adhere to the 20 foot rule.
One college they looked at had smoking in parking lots only.

The two colleges that we chose to look at more closely were Ozark Technical College, and Foothills, De Anza. Both colleges used surveys that we were able to use pull ideas from.

Both also had time lines that the committee looked at. We look at those more closely after our survey has been completed.

The group went over the proposed survey that was developed. Suggested changes and additions were made. The survey is available to view under files.

The group felt strongly that the survey should go out this spring if at all possible. We have momentum, we have a group of people who have been here for a year, and we need survey information to move forward with our charge.

Kendi forwarded this request and the survey to IR for review and feedback.
