Advisory Committee Policy
Currently this is what’s in the Academic Policy Handbook. Taylor Hanna provided a brief history of Advisory Committees. Originally there was a state statute mandating the advisory committees. At some point the state requirement for advisories was done away with or expunged, however they were adopted and continued at Portland Community College. Craig Collins will double check with CCWD to make sure the State statute was expunged.
Greg Kaminski, Distance Learning and faculty who represent career technical education have been working on guidelines for the advisory committees. Their guidelines have not been approved by EAC nor ASAP. The idea is to establish a Policy and approve/edit Guidelines for Advisory Committees in this meeting.
Taylor Hanna noted changes. He will set up links for the Policy in the Academic Policy Handbook.
