Syllabus Policy
Taylor had three different documents/sites concerning what needed to be in a syllabus.  He believes all three should  have  consistent language.   The group decided to use the bulleted list from the Academic Policy Handbook and modify it after discussion.

Academic Policy List with modifications listed below:

Intro paragraph should have a statement about the legality of the syllabus added

Bullets – Required Area (changes noted in parenthesis)

College name and address-OK

Instructor name-OK

Instructor office location, availability and phone extension (include PCC email, must be PCC because of FERPA)

Course title, number, CRN number, credits, meeting time and place-OK

Term & Year-OK

Course description (include a link to COG)

Course Prerequisites, if any-OK

Instructional materials-OK

Major assignments-OK

Tentative Calendar(move to optional section)

Grading Criteria(add a link to grading policy and move to optional section)

(add drop/withdrawal deadlines and a link)

Attendance and make-up policy, if any(delete “if any”)

ADA statement (Karen Sanders will look for a detailed statement they have at Rock Creek.  The statement should be very explicit, students must be registered with OSD)

Flexibility Statement(change to, the course content & requirements may be adjusted as needed with adequate notice)
