208. ECE 124 MULTICULTURAL PRACTICES: EXPLORING OUR VIEWS - NEW COURSE

Develops awareness of how personal experiences, belief systems and values impact work with children and families. Examines the impact of cultural, linguistic, and class identities and histories on inter-relationships in divers populations. Applies techniques for incorporating other peoples histories, values and belief systems into child-and family-centered practices.

Current: Analyze and diagnose each supporting system of the diesel engine to properly tune the engine for peak performance. Develops an understanding of how each of these systems relates to one another.

Covers: air brakes systems, hydraulic brake systems, truck foundations, antilock brakes, automatic slack adjusters, wheel and tires and fifth wheel. Emphasizes safety and the use of service manuals and textbooks.
Currently: Gain knowledge in brake systems, suspension and steering as used on heavy duty trucks. Covers: air brake systems, truck foundation brakes, antilock brake systems, steering systems, suspension systems, wheels and tires and fifth wheels. Emphasizing safety will be a must in all operations and phases of brakes, suspension and steering. The student must be able to follow verbal and written instructions from instructor and in diesel service manuals and textbooks.

Currently: The first of a two-term course introducing the basic histologic knowledge, skills and practices including instrumentation, tissue fixation, embedding, cutting, staining and troubleshooting. Stresses professionalism and safety in the medical setting. After completion of the two-term course sequence and one- year experience, student will be eligible to take the national registry examinations. Students must be certified as a Medical Laboratory/Technician and have department permission to register.

Currently: Second term of a two-term course that introduces the basic histologic knowledge, skills and practices including instrumentation, special staining techniques, frozen sections and processing various types of tissues, fungus, etc. Stresses professionalism and safety in the medical setting. After completion of the two-term course sequence and one year experience, students will be eligible to take the national registry examinations.
