The Curriculum Office is available to guide faculty through the process of creating or revising course curriculum. We can assist you over the phone, in person, or via email consultation. Please contact us early in the curriculum development process.
How long will it take?
For a new course, expect a minimum of four months and/or to three terms before a course is available to be scheduled and students enrolled. For revision to an existing course, it can take three to four months before the changes will be activated.
To view upcoming submission deadlines for course requests, or if you have already submitted your application and are wondering when the course curriculum change will be implemented, please see the 2013-2014 timeline for submission and implementation.
New or Revised?
Reasons for developing a new course or revising an existing course are similar:
- Results of a program or discipline review
- Advisory Committee recommendation
- Course modifications in an existing degree or certificate
- Course inclusion in a new degree/certificate
- Modifications in an existing degree/certificate
- Inclusion in a new degree or certificate
- Inclusion of PCC’s Core Outcomes
As of October 2013, all new and revised curriculum requests must be submitted through the course management tool, Courseleaf. Courseleaf can be accessed by logging into MyPCC, selecting the “Faculty” tab, and selecting one of the Courseleaf links on the right-hand panel under “Tools”. Select “Course Management” to revise or propose new courses, or “Degrees/certificates management” to revise or propose new degrees or certificates.
