The nursing program begins once a year in the fall semester and is a 6 semester/3 year program.
Students must first apply and be admitted to George Fox University before applying and being admitted to the nursing program.
All students must submit an APPLICATION to the nursing department.
DEADLINE: Completed applications plus all required documentation due at the Department of Nursing NO LATER THAN 5:00 PM ON JUNE 24, 2013. Admission into the nursing major is very competitive.
Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 required. This includes all transfer courses.
In order for admission into the nursing major, the following criteria MUST be met and included with the application:
- Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS)
- Two Essays
- Two Recommendation and Appraisal forms
- Health Certification Requirements
- CPR Certification

The admissions committee selects from George Fox University (GFU) applicants first, and any remaining positions are then filled by transfer students. A student is considered a George Fox student if they have attended GFU two semesters prior to applying. Forty (40) students are admitted each spring semester (January). The number and quality of the applicants determine competitiveness of the applicant pool. On an average, each entering class has included 10 transfer students.
One must be admitted to George Fox University BEFORE applying to the nursing major. Please apply to the university at least one month prior to applying to the nursing department to assure ample processing time. This process is completely separate from the nursing application and should be treated as such. Contact the Admissions Office for more information.
There is a $50.00 non-refundable application fee. Make check or money order payable to: GFU-Department of Nursing. NOTE: This is in addition to the university application fee.
Students must submit a copy of all transcripts of courses completed at colleges other than George Fox University.
