Additional Requirements
Applicants who plan to start WOU’s Education Professional Core by the end of their junior year will be required to have taken two exams: NES-Essential Academic Skills or PPST/Praxis I, the test should be taken in your Freshman/Early Sophomore year, and the NES-Elementary Education Subtest 2 and the ORLEA-NES Middle Grades Content test should be taken after completion of LACC General Education requirements. For information on the NES test go to www.orela.nesinc.com.
While a 2.75 minimum GPA is required for entrance to the Education Professional Core, students are encouraged to strive for a higher GPA to be competitive. Not all applicants are admitted.
For admissions to the education programs there are special requirements which must be met. Contact the College of Education division representatives for more information.
PCC endeavors to create accurate transfer guides for students; however, requirements may change without notice. Students are responsible for working with PCC advisors and their transfer institution to ensure that their academic plan will meet requirements and time lines.
