Notes:

To participate effectively in UO Architecture or Landscape Architecture computer-integrated studios, every student needs to have unlimited access to a personal computer. Incoming students are required to have access to computer tools in their studio work space. Assignments across the curriculum will assume this capability.

Laptop computers are strongly recommended. They will allow you to participate more effectively in computer-based classes.

Computing Services at the School of Architecture and Allied Arts supports the following computer operating systems for student use: Mac OS X (10.4 and above), Windows XP Professional, Windows Vista Business, and Windows Vista Ultimate. We do not support Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000, XP Home, XP Media Center, or Vista Home due to some inherent problems with running these outdated or limited operating systems on large computer networks. For more information on these limitations, please visit http://micro.uoregon.edu/microsoft_networking.html.

Lower-Division Architecture courses to be taken at the U of O

Arch 201 - Introduction to Architecture

Arch 202 - Design Skills

Arch 222 - Introduction to Architectural Computer Graphics

Arch 283/284 - Introductory Architectural Design Studio

Students wishing to study architecture should have a good base knowledge in Fine Arts and Art History. Students who have not taken and Art or Art History course may want to enroll in some Art courses at PCC. A portfolio of your work is required in your admission packet. The Architecture department will be looking at your creative potential.

We strongly recommend that students consider transferring to the University of Oregon before beginning their sophomore year. There are many architecture classes required of sophomore students that are not available at PCC. Contact the U of O Architecture Department for more information.

Additional Requirements

  • For U of O's Bachelor's Degree Requirements, refer to General Education. For PCC courses that transfer to U of O, refer to the Transfer Equivalencies link.
  • If you plan to earn an AAOT degree, all U of O general education requirements will be met by AAOT degree requirements.

PCC endeavors to create accurate transfer guides for students; however, requirements may change without notice. Students are responsible for working with PCC advisors and their transfer institution to ensure that their academic plan will meet requirements and timelines.
