To qualify for these licenses, you must:

  • Be 18 years old.
  • Have a high school diploma, GED or international equivalent.

Real Estate Broker License

Most people who enter the real estate industry work as real estate brokers. A real estate broker is an individual who is licensed by the state and helps people buy and sell real estate.  There are many activities involved in the purchase and sale of real estate.  A real estate broker is specially trained to assist clients with all the details.

Steps to Obtaining a Real Estate Broker License

  1. Complete a Real Estate License Application in eLicense, the Agency's online license management system. When the application is processed, you will receive an applicant ID number.
  2. Pay the $230 license application fee in eLicense.
  3. Provide PCC with your your applicant ID number.
  4. Complete the required courses - see list below.
  5. Register and pay to take the broker license exam with PSI.
  6. Pass both sections of the broker license exam.
  7. Pay for and submit fingerprints for the required background check while at a PSI testing center.

Property Manager License

Property managers are responsible for overseeing the management of such properties as single family residences, duplexes, apartments, condominiums, office or retail buildings, and other types of income producing real estate.

Steps to Obtaining a Property Manager License

  1. Complete a Real Estate License Application in eLicense, the Agency's online license management system. When the application is processed, you will receive an applicant ID number.
  2. Pay the $230 license application fee in eLicense.
  3. Provide PCC with your applicant ID number.
  4. Complete the required course - see below.
  5. Register and pay for the property manager license exam with PSI.
  6. Pass the property manager license exam.
  7. Submit fingerprints for background check while at PSI testing center.
  8. Once your background check has cleared, choose to work for a principal broker or on your own.
