- Bob Pryor
Bob Pryor teaches Fundamentals of Speech, Persuasion, and Mass Communication. Bob received his BA and MA in Communications at Purdue University and a PhD in Mass Media and Culture from the University of Illinois. Before coming to PCC, Bob taught at several universities, including Purdue University, the University of Illinois, the University of Nebraska and Northern Illinois University.
- Rick Seifert
A veteran journalist and college teacher, Rick Seifert writes and edits for his own online newspaper, The Hillsdale News. Rick has also founded and edited a successful Portland community newspaper, The Southwest Community Connection, now part of Pamplin Newspaper group. He was part of a team of editors and reporters who won a Pulitzer for their coverage of the 1980 Mount St. Helens eruption and its aftermath. - Helen Silvis
Helen Silvis is a print and multimedia journalist. She earned a master's degree from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism, since then her writing has appeared in diverse publications including: The Scotsman, the Portland Tribune, the Portland Mercury, Northwest Education and at www.theskanner.com. Her stories for The Skanner have been recognized nationally with Phillip Randolph Messenger awards in 2006, 2008 and 2009.
- Doris Werkman
Doris Werkman graduated from Portland State University in 1982 with a BS in Speech Communication and Sociology, with a minor in Journalism. She holds a MS in Speech Communication, also from PSU (1986). Doris has been teaching for PCC since 1985. She previously taught as a full-time instructor at Portland State University. Doris won an Excellence in Teaching Award in 2002.
