Admission
You may enroll in up to 9 credit hours of courses prior to admission in the program. Please follow the steps outlined below to apply for admission. The admission process must be completed before practicum placement.
Application
Following the evaluation of your materials and your admissions interview, you will be contacted concerning your status.
Step 1) Application Packet
Please assemble the following items and submit them in one package for review:
- Unofficial transcripts from all institutions attended since high school or GED (students with no post-high school educational experience need not submit transcripts.)
- This completed application form.
- A brief essay explaining why you’re interested in the program. This would be an excellent place to describe any volunteer or paid experience you have in this field or why you believe that this program is a good fit for you.
- To support your application, you may elect to have a letter of recommendation sent directly to the Education Department (see address below.) The optional letter of recommendation should come from instructors, supervisors, and/or managers who would be able to accurately access your abilities. Letters from personal friends and relatives are not acceptable.
Please send your complete packet of admissions materials to the following address:

Step 2) Interview
Schedule an admissions interview with the Education Department. Please call either Kay Peterson, Tanya Mead, or Gabe Hunter-Bernstein to arrange for your required interview.
Step 3) College Placement Tests
Schedule and complete the placement test. If you are new to college and intend to earn a certificate, a degree, or plan to transfer to another institution, you must complete the COMPASS placement test prior to registering for class. Students with prior college credit should discuss this with an Education Department advisor and contact a general program advisor for proper course placement.
