- Josette Beach, RDH, MS
Thank you for visiting the PCC Dental Program website. I am the Director of the three dental programs at Portland Community College. I graduated from the Dental Assisting and Dental Hygiene programs and can testify to the excellent quality of instruction you will receive in the programs. I have practiced as a dental hygienist for 30 years and have taught in the PCC DH program for over 25 years. For the last four years I have enjoyed working in the director’s position. Special highlights in my career are meeting the newly accepted students as they enter the program and congratulating them upon graduation and entry into the workforce!- Arleen Shannon
Arleen has worked in the PCC Dental Department for 19 years. She graduated from Oakland City College in California with her Dental Assisting Certificate. Arleen is a wonderful friend to all of our students!- Gary C. Smith, CDT
4 yrs USAF military service, 10 years commercial aircraft industry, design draftsman, structural engineer. Cross-trained to DLT at Orange Coast Community College, Costa Mesa, CA. Received AAS in DLT. Five years commercial lab experience while Assistant Lab Instructor at Orange Coast C.C. and owned his own lab for 1 year prior to moving his business and family to Portland, OR. He started working at PCC and now has 30 years teaching experience at PCC in the DLT program.- Raymond E. Ridgley, CDT, AAS

I have over 24 years of experience in the dental laboratory in ceramics, crown and bridge and removable prosthetics. I am a former CDT in ceramics. I am also a harmonica player and a writer, and a somewhat-famous internet personality.- Michael Saracione, CDT
I started my dental laboratory career as a volunteer at OHSH in the mid 70s. Since then I have worked as a technician in every job in a laboratory from entry level to owner. I was Certified in Removable Partial Dentures in 1980. As the Assistant Dental Tech program instructor I try to bring my 30 plus years of experience to the class room every day. I enjoy fishing, the outdoors and riding my Harley.
