Steps to enroll in the YES! Program
Step 1) Contact a YES! Program Resource Specialist
Decide which campus you would like to attend and contact the YES! Program Resource Specialist at that campus:
- SE Center: Chris Hamreus
- Cascade: Tracie Memmott
- Sylvania: Marlo Urbina
- Rock Creek: Mathilda Lee
The Resource Specialist will get you started on some of the paperwork for the YES Program and will explain the requirements to get enrolled. You will need to bring your high school transcript in to your Resource Specialist.
Step 2) Admission to PCC
Fill out a PCC Application for Admission. You can do this at the Admissions office of any PCC Campus (please bring photo ID with you):
- Cascade SSB, 102B
- Rock Creek Bldg 9, Rm 102
- Southeast Center Tabor Hall, admissions window
- Sylvania CC 208
You can also apply online. Make sure to get your PCC student ID number, either from the admissions office or online.
Step 3) High school release form
If you are under 18, you will need to get a high school release form from the last high school you attended. If you don’t have this when you come for the placement test, you must have it with you when you come for your second appointment in order to be assigned to a class. If you’ve been home schooled or just recently moved into your district, go to your neighborhood high school to get the release.
Step 4) Orientation and Placement Testing
Attend one of the Orientation and Placement Testing sessions. Choose one of the placement testing sessions at the campus you would like to attend. No appointment is necessary. To make sure that you get a seat, please arrive 20 minutes early for the session (if you’re attending a session at the SE Center, please plan to arrive at least 45 minutes early). Plan to stay for the entire session. If you park on campus, you will need to buy a $5 parking permit at a Pay Station box in the parking lot area. Bring your PCC student ID number with you.
At the end of your placement testing session, you will be given an appointment time and date to complete placement testing. Return for this session (usually a week after your first session) to receive your class placement and schedule.
Step 5) Attend your classes
Attend your classes, and make sure to have excellent attendance. If you miss class during the first week, your spot could be given to a student on the wait list.
