Steps to enroll in the YES! Program
Step 1) Admission to PCC
Fill out a PCC application for admissions and pay the admissions fee. You can do this at the Admissions office of any PCC Campus (please bring photo ID with you). Save your receipt and bring it with you when you come to your placement test. When filling out the application, be sure to mark non-degree seeking on the admission application.
Step 2) High school release form
If you are under 18, you need to get a high school release form from the last high school you attended. If you don’t have this when you come for the placement test you must have it with you when you come for your second appointment in order to be assigned to a class. If you’ve been home schooled or just recently moved into your district, go to your neighborhood high school to get the release.
Step 3) Orientation and Placement Testing
Attend one of the “Orientation and Placement Testing” sessions. Decide which campus you would like to attend and go to one of the placement testing sessions at that campus. No appointment is necessary. To make sure that you get a seat, please arrive 20-45 minutes early for the session (if you’re attending a session at the SE Center, please plan to arrive at least 45 minutes early). Plan to stay for the entire 3-hour period. If you park on campus, you will need to purchase a $3 parking permit at a Pay Station box in the parking lot area. Bring a photo ID with you.
Step 4) Class placement & schedule
At the end of your placement testing session, you will be given an appointment time and date to complete placement testing. Return for this session (usually a week after your first session) to receive your class placement and schedule.
Step 5) Attend class
Attend GED prep class. The YES! Resource Specialist for your campus will come into your GED classes during the first week of class to meet you and enroll you in the YES! Program, if you are eligible. If you have additional questions, please contact the Resource Specialist at the campus closest to you:
- John Matthews at Southeast Center
- Tracie Memmott at Cascade
- Marlo Urbina at Sylvania
- Sam Schroetke at Rock Creek
Additional information
Please note: If you choose to do online GED classes, you will not be eligible for the YES! Program.
