The Right Fit

 MAP is for students who:

  • Are 16 to 20 years old
  • Live in a participating school district: Portland Public, David Douglas*, Beaverton, Hillsboro, or Tigard/Tualatin**
  • Have a first language other than English
  • Have dropped out of high school, will not graduate with their class, or have never attended high school in the United States

* Must meet with and gain approval from school district to qualify.

**All Tigard-Tualatin students who are interested in MAP should call Jana Daugherty, Outreach and Intake Coordinator, at 503-788-6213 or Maria Hernandez, MAP Resource Specialist, at 503-533-2915. It is very important that you call either Jana or Maria for updated information.

Strong Support to Help You Succeed

MAP contracts with your school district to offer you a scholarship to the program, so there is no cost to you.

We want you to do well in the program, so we provide you with a bilingual Resource Specialist. Your Resource Specialist will be a counselor who offers advice; helps you get information about PCC; and provides you with referrals to community resources.

Ready for the Challenge

Through MAP, you will improve your English and begin working toward completion of a high school credential. A strong commitment is important, so you’ll need to attend class three to four hours a day. You are expected to attend every class.
