Women from 17 Technical Careers


About this project

The purpose of this project is to increase career awareness among women and girls, and to demonstrate the value of community college training by featuring 17 inspiring role models.

These photographs and stories first appeared in a booklet entitled "Women and Their Work: PCC Success Stories" produced in 1994 at Portland Community College. The photographs and some of the quotations are included in a traveling photography exhibit entitled "Women and Their Work: Community College Success Stories," which toured the state of Oregon from 1994 through 1996.
