Welcome to PCC Options (for high school age students). The information included in the Web page is an attempt to describe the different opportunities available for high school age students.
We hope that this information will be useful to high school and PCC staff in advising students as well as directly to students and their parents in choosing options which best fit their interests and needs.

Dual Credit |
High school Professional
Technical courses that are equivalent to PCC professional technical courses. High school academic courses that are equivalent to PCC
Lower Division Collegiate transfer courses. |

Credit Recovery |
Students enroll in PCC courses to make-up missing credits required for graduation at their home high schools. |
|
PCC High School Completion (HSC) |
Students enroll in PCC courses to obtain a PCC HS diploma while accumulating college credits. Some districts subsidize some costs. |

Open Enrollment / Home School |
Students enroll in regular PCC courses to "jump start" college, pursue specialized interests, make-up or supplement high school experience. |

Expanded Options
Program (EOP) Senate Bill 300 |
High
school 11th or 12th grade students
who are at least 16 years old and who
qualify for the EOP program through
their home high school can take PCC
courses at the expense of their home
high school district. After first
being qualified by their home high
school counselor, they are referred
to the PCC Admissions Office for PCC
placement testing and PCC
enrollment. |

Program for special education students. Emphasis is on training in the food service industry. |

Program |

Multicultural Academic Program (MAP) |
Bilingual program with focus on English computation, prevocational and college preparation. School district pays costs. |

Youth Empowered to Succeed (YES) |
Concentration on five academic areas of GED. Intensive case management to help overcome barriers and make transitions to further education or employment. School district pays costs. |
