Young Women's Career Conference

What Is It?
The Conference is planned and coordinated by
PAVTEC and a group of volunteer educators,
business representatives and other interested
people.
The goals of the Conference are:
- To encourage 8th, 9th and 10th grade
young women to learn about nontraditional
occupations. We do this through hands-on
activities and interactive discussions
presented by professional women who serve as
role models.
- To encourage attendees to seek courses
in career and technical education to gain
necessary skills and knowledge to make wiser
career decisions.
- To give students an opportunity to
experience learning on a college campus.
Now, in its 15th year, the Young Women's
Career Conference, formerly known as the "Middle
School's Girls Conference" is presented to
selected students in the area being served by
Portland Community College.
