Library Search Widgets

Search the library catalog from Firefox, Internet Explorer, or your Google home page.

Firefox (version 2+)

To search the PCC library catalog from Firefox's quick search box:

  • Open Firefox
  • Click the black drop down arrow by the quick search box in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
  • After clicking the arrow, you will get a drop-down list, with an option to "Add "Search PCC Library Catalog"'. Click this option, and the box will now display a PCC logo.
  • Now you can use this search box to search the PCC library catalog.

Internet Explorer (version 7+)

To search the PCC library catalog from Internet Explorer's quick search box:

  • Open Internet Explorer
  • In the upper right hand corner, there is a small search box that can be used to search Google and other search engines. To the right of that search box, there is a little orange box surrounded by a down arrow. Click the down arrow.
  • In the drop down list, move the mouse over "Add Search Providers"
  • "Search PCC Library Catalog" will pop out. Click on this.
  • This search will be added to the drop down list, and you will be able to search the PCC library catalog

Google home page

To add the PCC Library gadget to your customized Google homepage:

  • If you do not already have one, sign up for a free Google account.
  • Sign in to Google. This allows you to create a customized desktop with "gadgets" that you find useful.
  • Follow this link to the PCC Library Gadget.
  • Click "Add it now "
  • Click OK on the box that pops up.
  • Click on the "Back to Homepage" link in the upper left hand corner of the page.
  • You should now see the PCC Library gadget in the upper left hand corner of your google homepage.
