Take a look to the sources listed on the right of this page, beneath the Research Tools category

Databases by Subject offers general topic clusters, including multiple-simultaneous searches of EbscoHost databases

Databases by Title offers an alphabetical list of all the possible databases subscribed to by the PCC Library. Included are several sources for encyclopedia and almanac information. In addition, to search by majors or locations to locate colleges and universities, use College Source:

Lexis-Nexis indexes newspapers and newsfeeds from around the world.

RefWorks is used to save and format bibliographies

Documentation

Many of the PCC library databases offer either examples of how to cite their indexed sources, or, will format a citation for you.

These are not 100% correct sometimes, and may require a bit of revising, so look at them carefully.

In addition, several of the databases the library subscribes to offer a link to "export" the citation information into a citation generator. If given a choice, select RefWorks.

Documenting the sources that you quote from or paraphrase is required of all professional writing. It is essential to:

  1. avoid plagiarism
  2. avoid violations of copyright
  3. respect intellectual property rights

 

Library Catalog

From the library homepage, click on the "Catalog" tab on the top right corner to reach the advanced search screen. Limiting to "Subject" will focus your search.

In addition to the items available from the three campus libraries at PCC, there are possibly many more available from the Summit library consortium. You can borrow directly from academic libraries in Washington and Oregon. Items usually arrive within three business days. From a search result set in the catalog, look for the "Repeat Search In Summit" button:
