Audio tape duplication
A number of instructors have made audiotape lessons and associated material available for duplication to interested students, staff and faculty.
Self service
- Each campus library has duplication equipment set up for patrons to duplicate their own tapes. Help is available if needed. In order to avoid copyright violations duplication is limited to tapes the library provides for duplication. No other commercial or off-air programs may be duplicated.
- The user must supply his/her own tape or tapes either in C-60 or C-90 formats, depending on class or program desired. Check with your instructor regarding tape length or call the library.
In special circumstances, library staff will duplicate tapes. Please ask at the check out desk to make arrangements for this service.
Tapes are processed on a first come, first served basis with guaranteed completion in 24 hours --- with one exception. If tapes for an entire large lesson set are requested on one request form, time limitations may require staff to duplicate only the first 2 or 3 lessons for immediate use, processing the remainder within the next day or two. Completed tapes, sorted by patron's last name, may be picked up at the circulation desk.
Note
While master tape decks are continuously serviced and program tapes are periodically re-mastered, the audio quality on the duplicated tapes will vary. The sound quality will be affected by player brand and condition, tape brand and source of the original material supplied for the master tapes. Questions regarding sound quality should be directed to the library circulation staff.
Copyright restrictions prohibit the duplication of commercial or off-air tape programs
