Earth Week is observed each April to increase awareness of environmental issues and the organizations that work to protect our natural resources. Learn about sustainable practices and how YOU can make a difference. Be a hero and help our home world and future generations by choosing to be “green.” Small steps add up to big changes.

PCC Events

Earth week events that are fun and educational are scheduled at various campus locations. See: Sustainability for an overview of some of these events and for additional information and ways to get involved. A few of the events are listed below.

Rock Creek
April 19: 1:00pm Learning Garden Celebration
April 20: 11am–1pm - Music : Recycle man and the Dumpster Divers and sidewalk chalk competition
April 21: 1–4pm Building 3, Mall - Art Gladiators
April 22: 12–4pm Learning Garden Clean-up Party (all participants are entered in a "E"bike raffle).
Sylvania
April 19–22: Continuously in the Cedar Room - This documentary assesses the many recent advances in clean energy.
April 20: 12-4pm in the upper CC mall - Come to the grand opening of the "Washed Ashore" exhibit. Enjoy guided tours, local musicians, presenters and a scavenger hunt.
April 21: 1-3pm in the Cedar Room. Jim Cassio, co-author of Green Careers: Choosing Work for a Sustainable Future and local industry professionals will present on green career opportunities. A one-hour panel discussion will follow this event.
April 21: 11am–4pm - Learning Garden Open House - Students from ESR140 Overview of Environmental Sustainability will be in the campus learning garden to show different projects going on there and to tell you how you can be a part of it.
