Community Patron Cards
Members of the community who pay taxes to support the college, PCC Alumni, and retired PCC staff may register for community patron cards. Registrants must be 18 years or older, and not attending high school. Due to licensing agreements with our vendors, community patron card privileges limit access to e-books or databases to use inside library buildings; no access is granted outside of the library.
Although guests are always welcome in our libraries, priority is given to PCC students. Due to limited resources, guests have daily one-hour access only to specific computer stations if available. Reserve materials are not available to guests. See Borrowing for more details about borrowing privileges. If you have questions, please contact us.
Community residents must show picture ID and proof of address that they reside in the PCC district. A driver's license, state or federal identification such as a passport, or a state identification card and evidence of current address is accepted. Retired PCC Staff must show picture ID and the "Lifetime Member" card issued upon retirement from Portland Community College. PCC Alumni must have an Alumni Card which they may receive from the PCC Foundation.
Fines are variable depending on material borrowed. See loan periods and fines for details. Borrowers are responsible for all materials checked out on their cards. If a card is lost, please remember to notify us so that we can block checkout to unauthorized borrowers.
Community patron cards expire annually on September first. Cards may be renewed as long as requirements are met and any library charges (fines, etc.) have been resolved.
