Magazine Articles Online
Several magazine article databases are available through EBSCOhost. In each case some of the articles will be available in full text (the whole article). Others will have a summary only, with details about where to find the complete article. You can choose one database or search several at once. You might try:

Biology Journals (ProQuest)
Full text articles from 189 biology journals. 136 of them are peer- reviewed.

BIOSIS
Available to PCC users through PORTALS. Contains citations and abstracts to the world's biological and biomedical research literature. Indexes 7000 periodicals as well as books and conference proceedings. Coverage is 1990-2004.

MEDLINE
Covers the international literature on biomedicine, including the allied health fields and the biological and physical sciences, humanities, and information science as they relate to medicine and health care.

PubMed
Search Medline via this free service.

Science Direct Health & Life Sciences Collection
Full text for over 890 peer reviewed journals. For best results click on SEARCH to get started. Limit your search to SUBSCRIBED Journals, last 5 years ONLY.

Look in the library catalog or A to Z list of magazines and journal titles to see if PCC has the journal you need.

For journals not owned by PCC, consult WorldCat to see if they are available at another local library. You can then go to that library and photocopy the article. If the item you need is not available in the Portland area you might be able to get it through Interlibrary loan.
