What are fines?
Fines are a dollar amount charged to your PCC account as a result of keeping an item longer than its due date.
Pay Fines
Fines can be paid online through MyPCC or in person at the College Business Office. Outstanding fines may interfere with registration and obtaining transcripts.
Fines for PCC materials vary depending on the type of item checked out: $.25 per day for most items, $.25 per hour for reserves, and $5 per hour for laptops and digital cameras. All fines double for overdue items that have been recalled. See fine chart for details.
Fines for Summit materials are $.25 per day for most items or $1 per day for short-loan materials. See fine chart for details.
Charges for lost materials
The fine for lost books and magazines is the price of the item as listed in the library system. Replacement cost for videos and CDs is the price of the item at the time it was lost plus a small billing fee. If lost items are returned, the fine will be removed from the PCC account minus a late return fee (maximum of $10) up to one year from the date of loss. Lost Summit materials are subject to a non-negotiable $75 replacement cost plus a $15 service charge.
