Welcome to Portland Community College Library.

PCC library provides service to the entire college community including students, faculty, college staff and the surrounding communities. The library strives to provide equivalent services to distance and campus-based students and faculty. We’re here to support your experience and to supplement the work you do in class. If you’ve never visited, we invite you to stop by one of the library locations. The college has full-service libraries at Cascade, Rock Creek and Sylvania and limited service at Southeast Center. Come in and visit, or explore this website to find out more about what the library has to offer. You can also find us on Facebook, delicious and MySpace. We’d love to have you as a friend or a fan.

Library services extend well beyond the walls of the library buildings. The library is a member of the Orbis Cascade Alliance. This gives students direct access to the collections of over thirty academic libraries in Oregon and Washington. Students can visit Alliance member libraries in person or request items be delivered to a PCC library location by using Summit, the Alliance’s group catalog. Students can also use Interlibrary Loan to borrow items not owned by PCC or the Alliance.

The library subscribes to many databases containing information, articles and access to peer reviewed journals. Search the databases or look for specific journals and magazines in this list of print and online publications. If you have questions, contact us.

Finally, and on some days most important, PCC libraries are a good place to hang out and relax. There are quiet and noisy spaces where you can work in groups or alone. Bring in some coffee, kick up your feet and do some homework or curl up with a good book. The library has books, CDs and DVDs for you to enjoy. There are computers and printers and the libraries have wireless access. If you have children with you, they’re welcome in the library. Check out the collections of children’s books.

We are always looking for ways to improve library services. Please let me know if you have any questions, comments or suggestions.

Thank you for visiting,
