Open Enrollment 2009-2010
Open Enrollment runs from August 15, 2009 to September 15, 2009 at 5pm. Open enrollment elections and changes must be done online in the MyOEBB system.
As of October 1, 2009, the Oregon Educators Benefit Board is introducing life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) and long term disability (LTD) through The Standard Insurance Company (The Standard). The PCC provided life, AD&D and LTD insurance will be provided through The Standard, as will the optional life and AD&D insurance that eligible PCC employees and their dependents may enroll in. You will find more information on the optional life and AD&D insurance in your packet.
-
If you don’t want optional life and/or AD&D insurance you still must go into the online OEBB system and select your beneficiary(ies) for the PCC provided insurance.
-
If you do want optional life and/or AD&D insurance you must go into the online OEBB system and enroll, as well as select your beneficiary(ies). Employees who previously had optional insurance through UNUM will need to reenroll with The Standard.
Open Enrollment is also your opportunity to:
-
Change your plan selection for medical, vision and/or dental. The ODS vision plan will be changing. Anyone who previously had ODS vision plan 5 will need to go online and select a new vision plan.
-
Add or delete your spouse/domestic partner (DP) and/or child(ren) without a Qualified Status Change.
-
Update personal information such as address, phone number and dependents coverage if there have been any changes during the plan year.
-
Employees who opted out last year will need to go in MyOEBB to confirm that the other group coverage from last year is still in place.
-
Review your long term care insurance needs. If you are currently enrolled you may request to increase your daily benefit. If you are not currently enrolled, you may apply for coverage at any time during the year with approval from CNA. Flexible spending account (FSA) open enrollment will occur in November and will be effective January 2010. Information will be sent to all eligible employees in November.
Please review your insurance options and enroll, opt out, or make changes online by 5pm on September 15, 2009. Paper enrollment forms must also be submitted to Human Resources, Downtown Center 321, by this deadline.
Every effort has been made to report information accurately. However, all information, including the amount of any benefit and employee eligibility for benefits, is subject to and governed by the terms and conditions of the applicable contract, policy or plan document. In all cases where any of the information provided in this guide differs from the amount of benefit actually provided, the terms of the legal documents will control.
