Joaquin Forrest Arriaga
Joaquin Forrest Arriaga received the John and Dorothy Persen Diesel Mechanics Scholarship, the John Connor Book Award, and the Fred DeWitt Scholarship.
Born in Wilsonville and raised on a dairy farm, Joaquin dropped out of high school and worked in construction until he realized he could go no further without an education. Once he graduates from PCC in 2009 with a degree in Diesel Service Technology, he will be prepared for a well-paying job as a diesel mechanic working on trucks, trains, ships, commercial transport or farm equipment.
