Program Support

As PCC works to educate more students who are retraining to join the workforce or choosing community college as an affordable alternative to four-year schools, many PCC programs are facing critical capacity constraints. Faculty members need new equipment, technology and curriculum training to stay current in their fields. This kind of program maintenance helps students gain the knowledge and skills they need to compete in evolving industries, especially during tough economic times.

General Program Excellence Fund

The general program fund supports the Foundation’s mini-grant program, which advances PCC priorities. The January 2010 mini-grant awards supported PCC faculty and staff initiatives aimed at promoting student retention. Read a summary of the 2010 winning initiatives.

Program Funds for Excellence

PCC departments and programs create Foundation-managed accounts that are used to raise donations for targeted needs. A Program Fund for Excellence provides the opportunity to develop outside funding and partnerships with companies and organizations. The PCC Foundation currently maintains almost 100 Program Funds for Excellence.

Funds can be used for:

  • Materials, supplies, books
  • Computers and technology
  • Equipment
  • Professional development
  • Event support
  • Student support such as bus tickets, child care subsidies, and textbooks

Staff members can establish a Program Fund for Excellence for their academic program. Learn more about how to give to your favorite PCC program.

Equipment

The PCC Foundation accepts equipment donations that will support college programs and provide opportunities for students to train on the latest technology in their field. See In-Kind Donations.

What We Do

April Ann Fong

"Having a fund at the PCC foundation allows our donors to give directly to the PCC Foundation and designate the gift to the Habitat Team."
