Health Care/Medical Interpreting

Health Care Interpreting

A health care interpreter interprets between patients who speak limited English and health care providers. This course is designed to train multicultural and multilingual students in developing the knowledge and skills necessary for effective language interpretation in health care settings.

Students who successfully complete the course are then prepared to take the National Certification/Qualification Exam, or the Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters (CCHI) Exam, allowing them to work in health care settings requiring certified or qualified interpreters.
