Course Description
Covers key real estate transaction documents and concepts, including earnest money agreements, deeds, title insurance escrow instructions, financing documents and closing documents.Addendum to Course Description
An elective satisfying the requirements of either a Legal Assistant Certificate or an Associate of Applied Science degree.Intended Outcomes for the course
Analyze and prepare documents necessary to effectuate basic real estate transactions such as earnest money agreements, land sales
contracts, mortgages, trust deeds, deeds, and title insurance.
* Compute dollar amounts involved in real estate transactions.
Course Activities and Design
Lecture and discussion of the topic assigned each week. Students are invited and expected to participate in discussions related to the topics assigned and should be prepared to respond to the instructor's questions. Students will be required to submit thoughtful, writtenquestions of that week's topic, as their assignment, for each class.
